These Terms & Conditions (“Agreement”) set forth the obligations and expectations for restaurants (“Participant” or “Restaurant”) participating in The Big Cheese Grilled Cheese Competition (“Competition”). By participating, the Restaurant agrees to abide by the following terms: Registration Fee: A non-refundable $100 registration fee is required to participate in the Competition. This fee covers marketing materials, event promotion, and administrative costs. Payment must be submitted via e-transfer to team@thebigcheese.ca by April 3rd, 2025 to secure participation. 1. Participation & Obligations 1.1 Availability: The Restaurant must make its competition entry grilled cheese sandwich available for purchase during all designated event dates: April 11-27, 2025. 1.2 Operating Hours: The Restaurant agrees to be open for business during its regularly posted hours on all Competition days. Any changes must be communicated in advance and approved by event organizers. 1.3 Pricing: The Competition Entry must be sold at the fixed price of ($15 Take-out, $20-$25 Dine-In) as determined by the event organizers. No discounts, upcharges, or modifications should alter this price during the event period. 1.4 Consistency: The Competition Entry must be available for purchase throughout the entire event period. If the Restaurant runs out of ingredients or is otherwise unable to serve the dish, it must notify event organizers immediately and make every effort to restock. 2. Marketing & Promotion 2.1 Branding & Hashtags: Restaurants must use the official event logo, branding materials, and hashtags #thebigcheese, @bigcheesesmackdown in all promotional materials and social media posts related to the Competition. 2.2 Social Media Engagement: Restaurants must actively promote their participation in the event by posting at least two times per week on social media platforms, tagging the official event accounts and using event hashtags. 2.3 Voting Promotion: Restaurants must encourage customers to vote for their Competition Entry via the official QR Code voting platform. Promotional signage will be provided by event organizers and must be displayed prominently in the restaurant. 3. Operational Compliance 3.1 Health & Safety: Restaurants must comply with all local food safety regulations and health codes during the Competition. 3.2 Fair Competition: Restaurants agree not to engage in unethical practices such as purchasing votes, incentivizing customers to vote unfairly, or disparaging competitors. 3.3 Inspection & Compliance: Event organizers reserve the right to visit participating locations to ensure compliance with these terms. 4. Liability & Indemnification 4.1 The Restaurant assumes all liability for the preparation, sale, and consumption of its Competition Entry and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The Big Cheese and its affiliates from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from participation. 4.2 The Restaurant acknowledges that event organizers are not responsible for lost revenue, unexpected closures, or other unforeseen disruptions. 5. Termination & Penalties 5.1 Failure to comply with these terms may result in disqualification from the Competition and future events. 5.2 Restaurants that withdraw from the event without prior approval or fail to meet participation obligations may be subject to penalties, including exclusion from future competitions. By submitting your registration, the Restaurant agrees to abide by these terms and conditions.This agreement ensures a fair and well-organized competition while keeping restaurants accountable for participation.
